Hidden under a thick blanket
on the comfy chair
so only my head appears
above the cozy fleece
a steaming cup of cocoa
by my elbow on the tv tray
a quirky movie by Wes
Anderson on the television
instead of the news of the world
cellphone and computer far away
in another room of the house
because I don’t want to talk
or message or email or engage
with humankind right now
and I feel like I’d like to stay
ensconced on this chair, under
this blanket, the whole day.
