In Search of the Sunset

The son and his family are in LA
and I’ve been feeling disquieted –
feeling the distance
as the fires burn between us.
But tonight I went in search
of the sunset and I remembered
other sunsets and my son and I
hopping in the car to find them.

I mentally bring my son
with me now in my hunt
to find reflections of pink clouds
in flooded fields
and I feel his energy around me –
joyful and free.

I find a glorious sunset
and my heart finds peace.
Then my son messages me that
at the end of the day
he went in search of the sunset, too,
from his home in LA.

I Am Her Reflection

It’s dark and still when I wake
I feel wrapped in soft velvet
No hurt feelings or rejection, no pain,
discouragement, disappointment, or dismay
Before I let the news or messenger or FB
Determine my day
I let myself bask in the love of Love
For a moment – feel the peace and joy
And all-encompassing beauty,
Of the one Mind, Life, Love.
I have no opinions of my own,
No personal beliefs or feelings –
No fear, indignation, or dejection-
All I can feel is what Love feels –
I am Her reflection.

Celebrating Autumn!

Some photos from autumn in the northwest corner of Washington State: flooded fields; autumn reflections; piles of golden leaves; and the return of the snow geese…

Look what the solstice brought!

‘Let there be light,’ is the perpetual demand of Truth and Love, changing chaos into order and discord into the music of the spheres.”
 Mary Baker Eddy

The days are going to start getting longer now. We made it through the darkest day, my friends!

Note: These pictures were taken with my little Canon PowerShot 25x (I didn’t have my Nikon D-3500 with me tonight). I did not add color or contrast – other than a crop on one photo, this is how the pictures came out of my camera.  But I wanted to share what the solstice brought me tonight…

What a Miracle to Be

What a miracle to wake and discover the planet’s still here
we’re still alive
and there’s still opportunity to do some good in the world
to make a difference
to change course
to sing
to write
to create
to be kind
to find beauty
to laugh
to learn
to love
to be.

To reflect the beauty of Love…

New Views

“Each success stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love.”

new vews of divine Love

I pointed my camera towards the sunset as I drove home – my eyes on the road – and clicked. I had no idea if this one was going to turn out or not… 🙂

Copper Puddles

Copper puddles and puppy cuddles
autumn brings apple cider smells
and musky leaves and wool sweaters
out of cedar chests and crisp mornings
and rainy days and cold starry nights
that hint of winter to come…
