Check Out My Photo of Rainier in Mother Earth News

Check it out! Another one of my photos made it to the back page of Mother Earth News! This photo is especially meaningful to me because it is of the mountain that my father, Dee Molenaar, called “home.” It’s the mountain he climbed fifty times – one of them with me. It’s the mountain he wrote a book about – The Challenge of Rainier. He met my mom on this mountain – if not for this mountain, I, literally, wouldn’t be here! I worked on Mount Rainier during the summers between university. I met wonderful friends up there, hiked on its slopes every day after work, and made beautiful memories.

So I was beyond tickled when Mother Earth News contacted me to ask if my photo of Mount Rainier could be used on the “Photos from the Field” page. (I said yes.)

Photos in Mother Earth News

Check it out! I’ve got TWO photos on the back page of the June/July edition of Mother Earth News! (The photo of the dahlias was taken at Christianson’s Nursery in Mount Vernon, Washington; the photo of the strawberries was taken on our back deck in Bow, Washington. Another photographer took the cool picture of the ladybug on the spinach.)

Last Page of Mother Earth News

Look for my butterfly photo on the last page of the latest Mother Earth News. (Found a copy at the Mount Vernon Co-Op and, of course, had to let everyone within hearing distance know all about this. They were very patient with me.)

Check Out the Newest Mother Earth News!

Check it out! One of my photos of the tulip fields is on the back page of Mother Earth News this month.
(Just had to share.) 🙂

A New Photo in Mother Earth News

Another of my photos is on the back page of Mother Earth News. (I think this is the sixth time?) My photo is the one with the barn and snow-covered Brussels sprouts – taken in Bow, Washington, last year. But I’m loving all the photos on that back page – check out that pika with a mouthful of greens! This issue of Mother Earth News should be arriving in stores in December.

From the Field: Mother Earth News

My seagull with sea star made it on the back page of Mother Earth News (August/September). This is the sixth time for me (yes, I’m counting 😀), but it still tickles me to see one of my photos in there.

It’s Here! It’s Here!

Mother Earth News is using another one of my photos on its “Photos from the Field” page! This one will be in the April-May edition. I got my copies in the mail today. Check it out – my photo is of the heron at sunset…

I’m pretty full of myself right now. :)

My photo is on the back page of the June/July Mother Earth News. My picture is the one with the red barn and the rainbow. (This is the fourth time Mother Earth News has used one of my photos – I’m pretty full of myself right now.  )

New Photo in Mother Earth News

Mother Earth News is using another of my photos on the “Photos from the Field” page – this time in the April/May 2019 issue. Check it out! 🙂

(Mother Earth News has a “group” on Flickr – and that’s where they’ve found my photos. If you’re a photographer – and you haven’t already joined Flickr – you might want to consider sharing your photos there, too.)

(My photo is of the jaunty little red boat at the Olympia Marina.)

Check it out!

Check it out! Mother Earth News used another photo of mine – December/January 2018-19 issue… (mine is the photo of the red blueberry fields with the snowy hills in the background).
