Any words of encouragement you’d care to share at this time?

For a while now I’ve conceived of “God” as the collective consciousness of Good that we all share and express. I’ve come to trust in the power of that – in the power of our collective Love and Truth. I’ve felt that power lifting me up at times when I’ve been in deep sorrow and discouragement. I’ve been saved by that power – by the power of the collective Love. And when I’m feeling strong and brave I’ve tried to send that power back out – tried to do my part to overcome the darkness and discouragement and fear.

But tonight the words of encouragement aren’t coming to me. The inspiration seems to have disappeared. I see death, destruction, greed, selfishness, hatred, injustice, and cruelty in every corner of the world and  I’m feeling discouraged.

So I’m wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing some encouraging thoughts with me? If you wouldn’t mind sending your inspiration my way? It would be ever so much appreciated.

Thank you.

Okay, so maybe the words aren’t coming tonight, but I think I can still find a picture to send out into the collective consciousness…. ah yes, here we are: Autumn on Lake Padden:

Let’s try it one last time: What do you want for your world?

Okay, third time’s the charm, right? 🙂

What do you want for this world? (Let’s try it again.)

Just found a glaring humongo typo in my last post – I hate when that happens – let us try it again, shall we? 🙂

Note from a Member of the Imperfect Humans Association

“…as I see it you will have two choices to make when you encounter imperfect humans – you can get really angry about it, or you can forgive people their flaws and foibles and be kind to them anyway. As a member of the IHA (Imperfect Humans Association), might I suggest you choose the second option?”

be kind

Love…

Every direction we go, every path we take, every experience we have, and challenge we face always leads us back to Love. Love is what heals – not words, tradition, prophecies, rituals, or creeds – but simple, undiluted, ungussied-up, unfancified, unconditional, unpackaged, unboxed, unpoliticized Love. If it doesn’t come from Love, isn’t performed with love, and doesn’t lead to love, let it go…

Love leads

Note to Self…

Note to self: Don’t waste a single moment. Hurrying to get through this moment so you can get to the next one is not the way to live a life.  Make each moment count – learn something new in each moment, love more, see the beauty in now. Okay. Carry on then…

Sometimes we just need to get out of the way…

One of the most difficult things in life is to get out of the way and allow those we love to learn the lessons they need to learn and face the challenges they need to face. But why would we want to deny those we love the opportunity to grow?

Forever and Ever. Amen.

For a few days in the last week my family was spread out across 2,000 miles – Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago. And as I thought about this, I had a sort of revelation: Did the physical separation in any way weaken my love for my family? Did the fact that we weren’t in close physical proximity in any way make me love my family members any less? And the answer was, of course, nope. No way. Absolutely not. And then I thought about the loved ones who have died through the years and realized that death hasn’t stopped me from loving them, either. In fact, even though they’ve moved on, the relationship we created together has continued to grow and blossom and been a positive influence in my life.

As the character Jack Lemmon plays in Tuesdays with Morrie says: “Death ends a life, not a relationship.” (Mitch Albom)

never separated from love

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8
