In Celebration of Mother Earth

“Nature voices natural, spiritual law and divine Love,  but human belief misinterprets nature. Arctic regions, sunny tropics, giant hills, winged winds,  mighty billows, verdant vales, festive flowers,  and glorious heavens, – all point to Mind, the spiritual intelligence they reflect. The floral apostles are hieroglyphs of Deity. Suns and planets teach grand lessons.  The stars make night beautiful, and the leaflet turns naturally towards the light.” – Mary Baker Eddy

Presence is needed to become aware of the beauty, the majesty, the sacredness of nature…You have to put down for a moment your personal baggage of problems, of past and future, as well as your knowledge; otherwise, you will see but not see, hear but not hear.  Your total presence is required.”
–
from The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
– Isaiah 55: 12

The Rainbow is Enough

Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more.
– Mary Baker Eddy

Who needs a pot of gold? The rainbow is enough. 🙂

Behold, the ant!

Spirit duly feeds and clothes every object, as it appears in the line of spiritual creation, thus tenderly expressing the fatherhood and motherhood of God. Spirit names and blesses all. Without natures particularly defined, objects and subjects would be obscure, and creation would be full of nameless offspring, – wanderers from the parent Mind, strangers in a tangled wilderness.
Mary Baker Eddy

Ripples by Xander Terrell

Ripples

Faded trees blown by the breeze so gently
Shaded spots on the trail where the sun takes a break
Where critters hide in the dirt and running shoes land

A bright lake that doesn’t miss a thing when it reflects
Precious surroundings surreally cloning them
And placing them at my feet

If I sketch this lake and take it home with me
Will I steal its beauty or duplicate it
As it duplicates the leaves and the mountains

Sketches all its own marred perfectly with ripples
Places where tiny forces play god with the landscape
Proudly asserting their own artwork as supreme

Immersed in Nature

When I’m outside, amongst trees and birds, or standing on a beach looking towards the sea, I feel connected to something beyond myself. It’s impossible for me to feel lonely, or depressed, or friendless, when I’m immersed in the life of creation.

Connecting with Life…

Those times when I’ve encountered and connected with expressions of Life on their own turf, beach, and limb have been magic for me – as cool as meeting and communing with aliens from another planet…

Celebrating Earth!

“EARTH.  A sphere; a type of eternity and immortality, which are likewise without beginning or end…To material sense, earth is matter; to spiritual sense, it is a compound idea.” – Mary Baker Eddy

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth…And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” – Genesis 1: 31

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” – Isaiah 55: 12

***

Today I celebrate all of my Father-Mother God’s beautiful creation – all the glories of forest and meadow, mountain and sea, desert and valley and dale. I celebrate the infinite expression of God, Good – the beauty, harmony, and life that are evidence and proof of Good.  Today I recognize and appreciate The Artist’s work, I rejoice in it, take note of it, and re-commit myself to protecting it.
